Last simulation of the season is bound to be thrilling

The Toronto Star

TORONTO— Oh yeah!! Nothing excites me more then the last simulation of the season. The BPLA is on the verge of it’s last simulation and believe me I’m extremely excited. The last time I was this excited was when Joe Carter hit a homerun to left field to end Philadelphia’s hopes of winning a championship. The last simulation generally results in many division clinches and the BPLA has all four divisions up for grabs. To add a little JoJo’s psychic alliance feeling to this piece I decided to make a few projections.

First I’m going to look at the Eastern Conference. The Central division is a little tight but should be an easy projection. The battle is between the Winston-Salem Slam and the Columbus Conquest. Indianapolis is in the thick of things too but will fall to the others. Going into the final simulation, the Slam have a 6 game lead over the Conquest. With games against Indianapolis and Raleigh remaining for the Slam and New Orleans and Orlando remaining for the Conquest. After looking over the schedules of each team I project the Slam to come out on top. However, it will be extremely close. I say that the Conquest fall 2 games short of clinching the Central division. The one-two punch of Marco Oubre and Steven Campbell of the Slam will beat out the one-two punch of Joel Perez and Tim Hudson for the Conquest. Now that the Central has been covered lets turn our attention over to the Atlantic division.

The Atlantic division is not as difficult to project as the Central was. The teams in question in the Atlantic are the Hartford Hobbits, the Richmond Night Hawks, Raleigh Renegades and the Orlando Predators. I know some of you are thinking what the heck is this guy talking about, an easy projection. Although I have included all four teams in the division as being legitimate contenders only one will become the divisional champion. That team will most probably be the Hobbits. The rest of the teams have too tough of a schedule to make up the game differential to come out on top. The Night Hawks are 8.5 games behind the Renegades 10 games back and the Predators 12 games back. Hartford has it locked but if they stumble Richmond might just shock everybody and take first. The Predators and the Renegades are just blips on the radar. Their schedules are difficult and the only joy they will have is watching their opponents celebrate division titles. Let’s move forward to the Western Conference.

The Western Conference is extremely tight and may provide shocking results. The Pacific division is a two-team race. The teams in the hunt are the Portland Blades and the Mexico City Raiders. Currently the Blades have a 5.5 game lead on the Raiders. The Raiders will have games against Calgary and Las Vegas. While the Blades square off against Winnipeg, Vancouver and Wichita. The schedule doesn’t lie and the Blades, who have the easier road, shall come out on top.

The Midwest division is also another two-team battle. That race is between the Oklahoma City Fire and the Calgary Crusaders. As of this moment the Fire have a 4.5 game lead over the Crusaders. Calgary has the tougher of the two schedules as they play Mexico City twice. As a result of that, the Fire shall walk away with the division title.

Just in case I lost some of you. Here’s a complete recap of how I think each division will finish off.

Central

Winston-Salem

Columbus

Indianapolis

New Orleans

Winston-Salem wins by 1 game.

Atlantic

Hartford

Richmond

Raleigh

Orlando

Hartford wins by 3 games

Pacific

Portland

Mexico City

Vancouver

Las Vegas

Portland wins by 4 games

Midwest

Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City wins by 5 games

These are just my projections. I may be wrong but I may be right. I’m not a baseball prognosticator so that pretty much means I have no skill. However, I do have writing ability and that is why I can do a whole article on which teams I think will make it to the playoffs. If I projected wrong nobody better slam me. However, if I projected right I want mad praise as if I just hit the championship winning homerun.
