Ritch's Ranks

  Rank Prev. Rank Record
1 36-16 We don't know what Robert Thanders did over the winter, but it is working.  His OPS is 270 points higher, but he is killing the pitching staff with he poor defense, a ridiculous 25 passed balls.
3 33-17 A third of the season over, and the team is still posting a sub 3.00 team ERA.  Heading to October in Virginia.
5 32-19 The pitching is amazing, but with Richmond's resurgence, the Slam are going to need some offense to take it all the way.
4 31-22 You almost feel sorry for Ozzie Sanchez having to play in the same conference as Hiram Weitz -- .415/16/49.
2 30-22 Scary thing is, the Bears' middle of the order is all slumping.  Imagine what happens when the hit again.
6 32-19 Since dropping the series against the Slam at the end of April, the Hobbits have won eight of nine and split the ninth.
13 31-21 If you would have told us that the Jolts' pitching staff would have improved by an entire run by this point in 2004, we would have laughed.
7 27-25 Run support, run support, run support.  Joel Perez's numbers are only slightly higher this year, but he has already lost half as many games as he lost all of 2003 because of nearly 2 less runs per start.
9 23-27 Albert Lopez's luck will turn around soon.  His numbers are only different by one extra runner per nine, but his ERA is over a run higher.  Something's got to give somewhere.
8 24-27 Albert Pujols is killing his opponents on the road with a 1.295 OPS, almost 400 points higher than at the Big Rock.
11 23-29 When the guy getting a good chunk of at-bats at cleanup is hitting a mind boggling .133, you have a serious problem.
12 20-31 The players are better than this, and they know it.  Problem is we think they don't care.
16 20-32 Poor Roberto Verdugo.  Not the league's best pitcher, but to have to put up with that little offense behind you, 1.8 RS/G has got to just tear you down.
14 17-34 In all of history, there has probably never been a better case for insurance than the players of the Las Vegas Mirage.  Four players will cost the team $27 million to miss nearly 200 games.
15 18-36 Mexico City's thin air may be conducive to run scoring, but that pitching staff is ludicrous, sporting a 6.72 ERA.
10 16-36 Things will only get worse now that the league's worst offense has lost its best player in John Mowery.
