Stadiums
The initial stadiums that are built will be designed by each teams owner. There will be some guidelines. Dimensions are given in minimum and maximums.
  • Outfield walls down the lines: 300-400 ft.
  • Left and right field walls: 300-450 ft.
  • Centerfield: 390-500 ft.
  • Wall height: 4-50 ft.

Stadium seating can be as small as you like. Seating can be no more than 60,000.
Any type ceiling is available
Any type surface available (unless dome - requires turf).

It may seem silly then not to design a retractable roof, 60,000 seat stadium, but there are some bonuses and negatives to these things.
Due to effects on attendance (determined by fan loyalty):

  • Seating over 45,000: -1 Fan Loyalty for every 3,000
  • Seating under 45,000: +1 Fan Loyalty for every 3,000
  • Open Air: +3
  • Retractable Roof: No effect
  • Dome: -5
  • Grass: No effect
  • Turf: -3

The stadium factors will be assigned based on the sizes, wind speed and altitudes of all parks combined. The league settings will also be influenced by these. If everyone submits tiny hitter friendly parks, league offense will be set highest, while most of the park effects will be set around 100. More than likely there will be much diversity.

For stadium rebuilding, there will be a $100 million dollar fee for the team. This money will be split into ten payments of $10 million. The deduction will be set into the teams merchandising for those 10 years, to reflect its automatic payment. (Stadium rebuilding is a not a financial requirement of relocation. (see below)). Stadium rebuilding automatically adds 20 to Fan Loyalty (and gets the above modifiers).
To rebuild the stadium, the team must notify the league office two seasons before the stadium can be built. This is to simulate the time it takes for construction, city approval for land, etc.

Stadium renovation is a one time only fee. It can be done in the off-season, so notification needs to be made no later than the last day of the season (before the "Proceed to Next Season" action is taken). Costs are:

  • Seating: $1 mil/1000 seats
  • Adding retractable roof: $17 mil
  • Adding dome: $10 mil
  • Installing turf: $8 mil
  • Installing grass: $5 mil
  • Removing roof: $12 mil
  • Fan Loyalty renovation (improving view, better seats, basic overhaul): $2 mil/per pt
  • Moving in/out fences (this will change park effects): $1 mil per foot***

All renovation fall in with modifiers above.  Renovation costs come out of a team's cash reserve.

Relocation and Expansion
Expansion will only occur if 3 thing occur: the talent pool can support it, the waiting list of owners reaches a decent amount or demand is high enough, and the owners approve with a 3/4 vote. The league will never expand by more than four, and likely only two teams at a time.
When such expansion arises, there will be a 30 round expansion draft to fill the new teams. When such a time comes, the rules for protection and the draft will be released.

If a team feels the need to relocate, then it will be brought to a league vote. Again a 3/4 approval is needed for such relocation. If approved, the team will move to the new city the next season and play in the cities minor league park (30,000) for two seasons while a stadium is being built. Fan Loyalty will automatically be reset at 95, the current local TV deal will be be broken, with a $14 million/2yr deal signed.
If the petition is refused, the commissioner has the right to overrule the decision if he feels the team is in dire need of help. This is rare to happen though, as the commissioner is working on behalf of all owners and sees their decision as final. With the refusal, the team owner is able to reapply for relocation the following year.

The relocating team does not have to pay for the new stadium, as the new city is happy to host a new team. The only exception to having to play in a minor league stadium is if a previous league team had resided in that city and the stadium is still standing. The team may elect to play in that stadium.

Bear in mind that relocation may have an effect on some of your players loyalty. The player may have been loyal to the city and not necessarily the team. Loyalty scores may be affected.
