Top 5 Free Agents to sign this off-season | |
1.
John Bosque - 1B His power numbers were diminished by playing in Vancouver, but he proved that he is a phenomenal hitter and that he still has a lot of pop left in his stroke. Several team were in dire need of a good first baseman during the 2003 season, and Bosque will be the answer for one of those teams. |

2.
Antony Johnston - P While middle relievers are generally falling out of the sky, this particular one is all you could ask for in a relief pitcher all rolled into one package. He can pitch nearly everyday, has a smoking fastball, and can keep the ball down and inside the park. He relishes nearly any relief role, whether it be closing, setup or long relief and should bolster any of the mediocre bullpens in the league. |

3. Greg
"Toe" Nash - OF/P The MLB's castoff bad boy has a shot at becoming the Babe Ruth of the BPLA. He possesses both incredible hitting skills along with a 95 mph heater and nasty curve, any team would be lucky to have him on either the mound or at the plate. His legal troubles could cause him further aggravation and headaches for the team that signs him though. |

4. C.J. Hill
- 3B A victim of an over-talented position on a team that needed more power, C.J. was sent packing. Only 27 and better than he looked in training camp last year, in a full time role, Hill has the potential to hit 20 homers and attain a .340 OBP. He isn't especially fast, but runs the bases well and could make a very good #2 hitter on several teams that lacked on-base numbers last year. |

5. Bill
Raasch - P He did pitch in a pitcher's park and still managed to put up a 4.71 ERA, but he did get hurt towards the end of the year, which we believe made his numbers suffer. He received next to nothing in run support, which gave him his horrid 6-13 record, but with the right team and right lineup, Raasch is a solid #3 starter to bolster many weak staffs around the league. |
